Guest Experience Team · Helping Hands Closet
A Dignity Collective of Love First Christian Center
"Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience."
Colossians 3:12
We are not just opening a clothes and hygiene closet; we are launching a Community Boutique. Opening January 2, 2027 at 12903 Gordon Road (previous teen center), the Helping Hands Closet will be a curated, 1,100 sq. ft. space where neighbors in crisis are treated as honored guests. Our mission is to move families from the feeling of “charity” to the experience of “community.”
A Dignity Advocate is more than a volunteer — they are a Personal Shopper, a stylist even, and a Steward of Hope. Advocates don't just “hand out” clothes; they curate a high-end experience that restores the spirit of every guest who walks through our doors.
The Concierge Welcome: Be the first face a guest sees, offering hospitality that dismantles the stigma of seeking help.
The Personal Shop/Style: Walk alongside guests as they use their “Shopping Allowance” to select “A-Grade” retail-quality clothing that fits their style and size.
The Hygiene Choice Suite: Guide guests through our hygiene pantry, empowering them to choose the specific products their household needs — guests are never handed a premade kit.
The Boutique Reset: Use your eye for detail to steam garments, organize wall-mounted racks, and ensure the space feels like a modern retail sanctuary — not a thrift store or warehouse.
To reach our goal of serving 25–50 families monthly in our first year, we are proactively building a team of 20–30 dedicated and passionate Advocates. Whether you have a heart for prayer, a gift for organization, or a talent for retail merchandising, there is a place for you here.
